Project goal

Reimagine Airbnb's internal food team workflow and inspire their employees with the depth and diversity of Airbnb's themed cultural menus.

In 2019 we partnered with Airbnb to design and build the brand new communication platform for the rapidly growing Airbnb's global Food program. Over the last five years, the Food program at Airbnb has massively grown and now requires sophisticated management. With new menus created and served daily for over six hundred people in the Dublin office of Airbnb alone, the team needed a tool that will connect all the moving parts.

The Solvers team has led the process from start to finish, from the initial brainstorms and design thinking session to the customer research, user testing, and the final build of the app.

Dozens of interviews and surveys to get an in-depth understanding of the meal planning, cooking, and serving processes at Airbnb. We are excited to know there are many ways to improve employee's and the Food team's experience.

Several versions of information architecture iterated throughout the design process. What may seem like a bunch of boring diagrams is the key to a painless design process.

Giving early-stage prototypes in people's hands reveals a few significant issues with the menu creation process. The design director insists on further dashboard improvement. We keep iterating and gradually improving every bit of the experience.

A significantly more refined version of the design goes into the preproduction build. We keep fine-tuning the experience with the real data connected to the backend.
